I hope this doesn't sound like an advert for them, but for a real ANSI C compiler under most (all?) versions of Unix you might give MetaWare's Hi-C version 2.2 (or is it 2.3 now?) a try. It does an impressive job (better than SunOS 4.0.3 cc and gcc 1.37), and is much more ANSI compliant than the GNU compiler - it includes all the ANSI req'd libs and header files, etc. They can be reached at 408/429-META Just a very satisfied user... -John Plocher
