Message-ID: <4105@hsv3.UUCP> Date: 24 Aug 90 16:17:35 GMT Reply-To: jls@headland.UUCP (James Seidman) Organization: Video Seven / Headland Technology Lines: 19 I was wondering if anyone out there knew how to detect if a non-Windows app running in 386 enhanced mode is idle or not. What I'd ideally like is a utility which leaves up a status window showing all my non-Windows apps with a little mark next to the idle ones. The reason I want this is that I often start a long compilation (or similarly long process), minimize the window, and then go on doing something else while waiting for my compilation to finish. However, I have to keep restoring the window to see if it's completed. Since Windows determines if a process is idle for scheduling purposes, it should be possible to access that info. Has anyone done anything like this? -- Jim Seidman (Drax), the accidental engineer. UUCP: ames!vsi1!headland!jls ARPA: jls%headland.UUCP@apple.com
