There is a photo of the revamped version of the International Measurement(They formed a subsidiary called Laser Technologies to market it) that is much more compact than the previous model. I will summarize more when I buy the issue, but it does use non-visible light, which would almost certainly be near IR since it uses a low power diode. Many of the latest questions regarding the power, etc of photo radar, and questions about radar detector, detectors are answered. The laser speed device cost $3500 when I called IM&C last November.
