I was using an NS16550AFN (what is the difference twixt the AN, AFN and (FAN?)
versions of the NS16550)

Are you running Interactive with the FAS?  I've got SCO Unix  - anyone get
the FAS and SCO Unix working together?  Or is that unrealistic?
