Dial a test number, receive four quick rings (about 1/sec) then silence. 2. Dial another test number, rings twice (normal ringing) then returns to a normal dial tone allowing dialing as usual. 3. A test which sounds like a short fax carrier blast, then silence. 4. A couple of numbers that don't do anything but sit there silently.
