Try setting the 'm' macro and class explicitly rather than allowing sendmail to do it. For example: Dmlever.com Cmlever.com lever local If your domain name does not start with a '.' or a '+', sendmail strips off the first component, in your case lever. This is documented somewhere in the Sun sendmail write up.
