I subscribe to bother OtherRealms and the Risks Digest, and I would have no quibble with calling either a full-fledged publication. The original point I was trying to make is that there is a significant difference between a regularly-scheduled publication with identifiable staff and open subscriptions, and someone xeroxing off a letter in their basement that they mail off to a circle of friends. Whether or not such a difference is found in case law or not, I dunno. Would one of our lawyer/readers care to comment? Comparing Phrack to the NY Times is not a convincing or appropriate analogy, nor is comparing this newsgroup to NPR's All Things Considered. :-) -- Gene Spafford NSF/Purdue/U of Florida Software Engineering Research Center, Dept. of Computer Sciences, Purdue University, W.
