Message-ID: <3432@usceast.UUCP> Date: 1 Sep 90 23:11:14 GMT Sender: patterso@usceast.UUCP Distribution: usa Organization: University of South Carolina, Columbia Lines: 14 As the subject line suggests, I'd like to know if Minix will work on a Tandy 1000TL ( 80286 with an XT bus, I think ). I borrowed a set of Minix disks, 1.3 I believe, and tried to boot; the boot disk worked OK, but the fsck seemed to just spin disks forever...no error messages, nothing, just that little red drive-in-use light. I have AST's book, and I noticed that it says Minix requires 100% IBM- compatible I/O chips. I suspect that -- knowing Tandy's penchant for designing bizarre proprietary ``features'' into their machines -- this may be the problem. Perhaps I just had a bad set of disks. If anyone can shed any light on this problem, please do so; I would very much like to get involved in the grassroots Minix development process. Thanks in advance.
