The software seems to be working most of the time, but I am having intermittent problems with server mode. Whenever I FTP to my PC from another PC running the Stanford TCP/IP package (some derivation of the CMU stuff), I can log on successfully, but all file transfers hang. Later, I see error messages on my PC about "Packet received for invalid port - reset sent". Once a file transfer has hung, all attempts to connect to my PC fail, adding more of these messages. I've been able to successfully FTP files from my PC using a Unix machine, but sometimes I am unable to connect, and I get the same error message on my PC. Once the PC is stuck, I need to kill Telnet and restart it. Since my PC is at home, this is a bit inconvenient. Any ideas, anyone? I usually just leave Telnet running in a Desqview window. Does server mode only work if it is started fresh? (I did invoke telnet with -s) -David Hinds dhinds@popserver.stanford.edu
