I am working on a project which needs to connect a PUMA 560 robot and a supervisory computer. So far, I try to use a IBM PC/XT as a supervisor. The PUMA that I have is a pretty old one which has a RS-232C serial interface. The problem that I have is when "ENABLE NETWORK" command is issued in VAL-II, the PC can receive a "start" message according to DDCMP format. However, the PUMA wouldn't response after PC transmitted a "start acknowledgement" message, i.e., no system prompt appeared on the PUMA monitor. I would like to know if anyone can help me, I would really appreciate your reply. Pei-Chieh Chin Mechanical Engineering The Ohio State University
