It would be nice to have NetHack on one disk!!! I just filled my A2000 up with memory (9.5 megs), created a HUGE Rad: (*) (6.5 megs), installed Nethack there and play from the icon for weeks at a time with no problems and no loading delays. Of course, I back up "record" (the score file) and the files in the "bones" directory and any save file onto a floppy once in a while in case of a power outage, but that's the only overhead. I keep the whole nethack directory plus a nethack.info drawer file in a nh309.zoo file that fits very comfortably (612Kbytes) on a single floppy and loads back into Rad:, when I have to rebuild after a cold reboot, in about three minutes. A really pleasent way to get offed by monsters an average of once every five minutes (used to be once a minute, I'm improving!), and the extra memory has lots of other uses when I can tear myself away from Nethack. Just a suggestion for the permanently Amiga Nethack addicted. Note the Followps-to: line, if interested in following this conversation. Kent, the man from xanth. -- (*) recoverable (after a warm boot) ram disk for the non-Amiga types in rec.games.hack.
