I have seen a lot of discussions about the GIFviewers in this net.
I got intreseted and downloaded a couple of GIFpictures and some
viewers but thought something was missing on all I tested, so I
decided to write my own viewer. so my questions are:

How is the GIF picture structured? (format etc)

(And if you have a got algorythm for example to get down to 16 cols
instead of 256)


I do not need 100 pages of information but just so I can get started.
