I played it a long time trying to figure out how to sink it (even went so far as to land on the sub without arrestor-hook -- yes, it was quite insane -- and pummel the conning tower). After a little more work I came to the realization that all you have to do it hit the sub with a single missle. Then you return to your carrier and the game will end (no scenes of sub sinking or anything). It really was anticlimatic. On the topic of F/A-18, is Jetfighter out for the Amiga? I've seen this game on several other platforms and the interface looked exactly the same as that of F/A-18.
