Message-ID: <1990Aug22.104851.26121@computing-maths.cardiff.ac.uk> Date: 22 Aug 90 10:48:51 GMT Sender: news@computing-maths.cardiff.ac.uk (Network News System) Organization: University of Wales College of Cardiff Lines: 21 Posted for a colleague: System: Amiga 1000 (UK) + Vortex 40Mb hard disk Fault: Sometimes system boots OK, but on other occasions power-up just causes the pilot light to flash fairly regularly at about six times a second. No Kickstart screen appears - the monitor stays blank. Sans hard disk, the system *never* fails to work OK, but the pilot light flashes a few times before settling down. Anybody got any ideas as to why this may happen? Anybody in the UK got recommendations/warnings about hardware repair shops for the Amiga? Thanks for any advice, -Justin justin@cm.cf.ac.uk justin@cf-cm shuttleworth@cf.ac.uk
