(HOW THEY WERE PACKED) Message-ID: <1990Aug30.183837.19864@laguna.ccsf.caltech.edu> Date: 30 Aug 90 18:38:37 GMT References: <766@mtune.ATT.COM> <12473@sdcc6.ucsd.edu> Sender: news@laguna.ccsf.caltech.edu Distribution: na Organization: California Institute of Technology Lines: 20 This is how the 3200 pics were packed: The first file (SLIDESHOW) was a shrunk disk -- I copied the french disk, deleted all the pictures, zeroed the unused blocks, and shrunk it. The disk is self booting and contains the french slide show program. It uses the volume directory of the disk to find its pictures. All the picture files were of shrinkit archives of each picture individually. These pictures can be view by versions 1.1 and up of Jonah's View3200. To reconstruct the original disk, unpack SLIDESHOW to a 3.5 and copy all the unpacked pictures (filename.3201) to it. You will have a self-booting disk that cycles through the volume directory (in CAT order) and displays all french format (at least) pictures it finds. All of the posted files are available via FTP from tybalt.caltech.edu [131.215.139.100] or I can mail them. Todd Whitesel toddpw @ tybalt.caltech.edu
