Yes this is correct. You must set the dip switches differently for the one meg SIMMs but you can strip off the 256k beasties and sell them off. Be careful with the grey market SIMM's on that board. I have tried some and found them to cause problems. Select a speed of 100ns as well. There is no way to disable the integral floppy controller on the motherboard so disabling it on the WD controller is correct.
