I would like to use a very strong word to point out this is DEADLY wrong. For the 80286 system, if you plan to buy an Expanded Memory Board, do yourself a favor, make sure it supports LIM 4.0. When you ask this question to any vendor, it means "Does this board have REGISTERS to support LIM 4.0 or not". I am so surprised that someone still think software emulation is better than hardware function and is the only thing you need. ~.
