If anyone has any recommendations, I would certainly appreciate The ads I've seen for laptop terminals are generally for machines that cost about $1200, and weigh about 12 pounds. They tend to come with a built-in 1200 baud modem, and a simple word-processor that can handle 64K of text. The above specs are for Random Corp., but I think the TI models were similar. In short, why bother? You can get a low-end Toshiba and a 2400-baud modem for probably $800, which weighs a few pounds less and gives you full MS-DOS, which will let you run your choice of terminal emulators, do file transfer, and run the programs YOU want instead of the ones built-in, though several machines in that class come with built-in-ROM DOS and word-processors. Or you can spend somewhat bigger bucks and get a 4-pound machine. -- Thanks; Bill # Bill Stewart 908-949-0705 erebus.att.com!wcs AT&T Bell Labs 4M-312 Holmdel NJ # There'll be a brand new war coming soon to a theatre near you - promise!
