Yep, it certainly would ... and I did before I posted.  I got the usual 
results whenever one asks about software which MIGHT be under development 
- something along the lines of "we are not allowed to discuss products 
which are not announced".  In all fairness, however, I was also told that 
the idea of a new Mac version was "being discussed".  Whatever that might 
mean.

After this non-answer, I thought I'd try the net ...

Anyway, I have now followed my phone call with a nice letter (thanks for 
the advice, Chuck King!) asking about the status of said program, and 
pointing out the potential market impact IF it were to become available 
... we'll see what happens next..
