Keywords: Just a few tips wanted Message-ID: <908@iceman.jcu.oz> Date: 31 Aug 90 05:55:01 GMT Organization: JCUNQ, Townsville, Qld, Australia Lines: 20 Well I have an SE30 with 4Megs of memeory, and now a friend of mine has given me 4 256K chips (he upgraded his SE30 to 8Megs :-). My obvious question is as follows:- Anyone have any tips on what I should do to add this memory to my Mac. I know that they will go in the empty bank, I know they are the correct speed and I know there is no resister to clip. I also know that I have to earth myself (and the Mac) well. What I am really asking is, is there anything I have to be careful of when I open it up ? (I will do some dusting while I'm there too :-). From memory I should discharge the voltage somewhere (the screen ?) Can I get to the memory slots without diconnecting the screen ? (am I foolish for even contemplating that idea ?) Anyway, please e-mail this to me (I know that most of this is old news so the net shouldn't be burdened again :-) Thanks again, Michael. PS I have a nice Torx Driver, it came with some other equipment in our department :-) PSS There are two e-mail addresses for me :- chma@iceman.oz or chma@groper.jcu.edu.au (prefered)
