I'm not sure what's wrong with the virtual and the sawing noise etc, but...
I have the newest Virtual for Mac II (2.03) and System 6.0.5 and I have
had no problems with it so far (I'm using a Rodime 140 internal).  You 
may want to call connectix.  They may give you a free update.
