   I am interested in finding a c99 program/procedure that will load
the contents of a chara1 file found on disk.  The chara1 file is
a memory image file and cannot be accessed using the normal c99 open()
command.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks for the
time and the help to come.
