  Last week I posted a request for pointers to programs that remove
  TeX and LaTeX constructs from documents.  I found a detex/delatex
  pair on a.cs.uiuc.edu in pub/TeX/detex.tar.Z.  The occasional &, *, 
  "in" (inch) and so on does get through, but overall it seems to work 
  pretty well.
