Is this the same as {picture} mode in LaTeX? I am quite interested in any other means of getting graphics into TeX (I use LaTeX) since {picture} mode routinely makes latex run out of space at our site (I get the picture-mode stuff from GNUPlot, it has a latex driver.) PiCTeX is nothing to do with LaTeX picture mode. It is a very ingenious set of macros that implements quite sophisticated drawing and plotting using tiny dots (usually). it is good, but slow and *massive*. if you run out of memory with LaTeX picture, forget PiCTeX. get yourself a bigger TeX. there is an article on PiCTeX in Tugboat from about 18 months ago by memory. find a local source for Tugboat -- Sebastian Rahtz S.Rahtz@uk.ac.soton.ecs (JANET) Computer Science S.Rahtz@ecs.soton.ac.uk (Bitnet) Southampton S09 5NH, UK S.Rahtz@sot-ecs.uucp (uucp)
