I already have a SUN quic-150 tape on the system, and there is a entry in the kernel tape st0 at sm0 drive 32 flags 1 So if I had to guess I'd say that I could add a line like tape st1 at sm0 drive xx flags 1 My question is what is xx supposed to be. According to the manual on reconfiguring the kernel; csr, drive, flags, priority, and vector arguments are described in Advanced Administration Topics, because you need to supply values for them only if you are going to configure your own device drivers. YUCK !!! I don't think I need a device driver just to add a 8mm DO I ????? Please respond directly to me. If this has been covered before, please forgive me as I am a new administrator and a new user. OH by the way I am running 4.0.3 and my current configuration is Sun Sparcserver 330 2 - 327 mb disk 1 - quic-150 tape I will be adding 1GB disk and 8mm tape - The disk I figured out but not the tape. Thanks for any and all help . Susanne B. Ramsey ramsey@sundance.llnl.gov Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (415)423-9520 Livermore Ca
