View, Ca. Lines: 27 Mike Jipping raised the question "since owners of OpenWindows 1.0 automagically received updates to 1.0.1, would they also receive an OpenWindows 2.0 upgrade for free?" Here is the definitive answer to that question: All owners of OpenWindows 1.0 or OpenWindows 1.0.1 who actually *purchased* either version of OpenWindows will be upgraded to OpenWindows Version 2. So, an owner who purchased Openwindows 1.0, and was upgraded "automagically" to OpenWindows 1.0.1, will be upgraded to OpenWindows V2. And any owner who purchased OpenWindows 1.0.1 will be upgraded to OpenWindows V2. The same process has been used for this "automagic" upgrade as was used for the upgrade from OpenWindows 1.0 to OpenWindows 1.0.1. Shipment of the many thousands of upgrades began on July 25, and will be completed by mid September. I hope this ends all confusion about Sun's policy on upgrading customers to OpenWindows Version 2.
