Prior to the release of OpenWindows 2.0, there were several versions of the olgx library that were incompatible with each other. If a program were built with one version of the library and dynamically linked with a different version, this error would result. The shared library version number is supposed to prevent this sort of mismatch, but it was incremented only for public releases of the system (i.e. OpenWindows 1.0, OpenWindows 2.0). Make sure you have OpenWindows Version 2 (not beta, not beta2, not the June 27th version or anything), or make sure you have an up-to-date copy of the XView/olwm sources that were recently made available at MIT. s'marks Stuart W.
