Message-ID: <11813@chaph.usc.edu> Date: 3 Sep 90 21:43:20 GMT Sender: news@chaph.usc.edu Organization: University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA Lines: 21 Nntp-Posting-Host: aludra.usc.edu Bill Joy Dennis Ritchie Steven Jobs some of the people I respect the best in the whole wide world; all think X is brain-dead. Do you have any ideas on why? Did the wide acceptance of X have a lot to do with the urgent need to kill NeWS quickly on the part of DEC/HP/IBM (basically, did X rise to prominence for political rather than technical reasons)? Who're the people who did X anyway? I never heard any names apart from the keyword 'MIT'. -- _______________________________________________________________________________ Ajay Shah, (213)747-9991, ajayshah@usc.edu The more things change, the more they stay insane. _______________________________________________________________________________
