My new version of Flipper, 3.03, does not work with my Grollier's Encyclopedia on CDROM, as the previous version, 2.74, does. It will not track the cursor position & the up/down arrows don't work. I rang Stephan Smith at Flipper, told him the problem, & tried the "remedies" he prescribed which had to do with tracking a "forced enhancement". That didn't work & nothing else did either, and apparently Smith is out of ideas... Secondly, Flipper with Dec Talk, the synth I use, can take more than 2 seconds to start reading a line, now a slightly longer delay with the new version. Smith claims that it's the Dec Talk's fault, as it does extensive processing before reacting. Would anyone like to comment on that? Lastly, can somebody provide an in-depth comparison,(if such a thing exists), between Flipper and the other major speech programs? Thanks in advance for any input.
