Subject: Call for contacts - The Cambridge University Buddhist Society

           WE WANT TO HEAR FROM SOCIETIES OR INDIVIDUALS

The Cambridge (U.K.) University Buddhist Society would like to establish
contacts with other societies or individuals throughout the world. The
society is one of the oldest in the western world, although it was
neglected for some years. We publish a yearly journal, `Kalpa', which we
would be glad to distribute or exchange with other societies. We would
also be interested in articles for the journal.

Cambridge is a thriving Buddhist centre, with a Tibetan cultural centre,
several Zen groups and ordained Western Buddhist Order people, amongst
others. The society is a good way to get in contact with these groups,
and we would be glad to supply information.

The society holds regular meetings in Cambridge, and would be interested
in contacting potential speakers on Buddhism or related subjects.  For
example, we have had meetings concerning Yoga, Tibetan medicine, the
Pure Land sect etc.  (This only really applies to the U.K.  -- we can't
afford to pay much in the way of travelling expenses, since we're
entirely supported by subscriptions and donations.)

If you would like something from us, or have something to offer, please
contact us, BUT PLEASE SUPPLY GROUND MAIL ADDRESSES. There are strict
rules about the use of JANET from Cambridge, so it unlikely that we can
reply via EMail, although we are seeking clearance.
