If you win you can use unix. Fair enough. I had considered mentioning Cray, SCS, and Convex, but I guess I was thinking more along the lines of general purpose machines;VAX,370, B5000. The Cray isn't usally considered a general purpose computer, usually. CDC marketed Cyber 180s in response to what people do on a Vax, just about anything. The Vax has such a head start in C applications, that it was always hard to compete on these terms.
