I am investigating extensions to SQL to support full-text retrieval.

I am gathering information on the following:
  - Any commercial database products or research activities which support
    full-text retrieval through a query language (SQL or others).
  - Any standards organizations or group working on full-text extensions
    to SQL or any text retrieval query language standards.
