Of Fiddly Bits Lines: 14 The question of the day from the new 10BASE-T users on campus concerns multiport transceiver boxes. Specifically, is it ok to attach a multiport box to a 10BASE-T MAU? That way you can connect multiple (thick net) hosts in an office to a single 10BASE-T port. The manual for the 10BASE-T hub box they purchased is silent on this issue. On the other hand, given that each 10BASE-T port is repeated, which fixes up lost preamble bits and retimes things, it seems like this should work ok. Has anyone tried this? If so, were there any problems? Thanks, -chas
