Germany, Poland, etc. are fair examples, which is why you you included them. How about the U.K., Eire, West Germany, Sweden and other (Western) European countries. My point was not to say that one country's system is any better than anothers, but to point out to you that in its phone system as well as other areas the U.S. is not still 'the best in the world', most other countries have caught up, the U.S. has been standing still for too long, and as long as it continues to ignore world standards and keep on going its own way, the U.S. will start to lag behind. The U.S. phone system is great, I can get service three days after ordering it, it can take forever in some parts of England, but it is no longer the finest and most technically complex phone system in the world. Just my opinion....I have *absolutely* no facts to back it up....Adam.
