My son in taking Computer I (BASIC programming) in 9th grade this year.
Since he already knows BASIC, Hypertalk, and a smattering of LISP, I
am looking for alternatives for him.  They will probably allow him to
pursue another language on an independent study basis to get the credit.

Is there a good textbook on C++ aimed at a high school audience?  We
will probably get Turbo C++ unless I get comments from readers of this
group to the contrary.
