My comments weren't meant to apply to the driver sending PostScript to any particular PostScript device; they were meant to apply to the case of rendering TrueType on a device that doesn't have TrueType in ROM. Again, what seems to be the case is that if it has an '0x0, machine code gets downloaded, otherwise PostScript gets downloaded (I think).
