You can have a UNIX host pretend to be a LaserWriter using the
lwsrv program which is part of the CAP software. See the
comp.protocols.appletalk newsgroup for endless discussion of
CAP. If you have Suns the you can use a related thing called
UAB to provide direct support for EtherTalk (i.e. AppleTalk as
spoken through Ethernet interfaces).

There is NO WAY to share a LaserWriter between the APpleTalk
and serial ports because some of the lines are physically wired
together, so the AppleTalk traffic corrupts the serial line
stuff. You should look at the EtherPrint box being sold by
Dayna Systems Inc (Salt Lake City) which allows you to speak
EtherTalk to a LaserWriter via their $400 interface adaptor.
