I've been lead to believe that the difference between the two is that SPX1000 can be used in STEREO (ie, Left and Right hand INPUT channels can be processed independantly) where as this is not the case in SPX900. However, SPX900 does have independant control of its left and right hand OUTPUT channels! I guess SPX1000 = 2 x SPX900 -- this certainly seems to be the case if you compare the prices.
