I have downloaded slipware.tar, but it doesn't seem to have any patches for the 386 SUNOSes. I am at the point where I have been able to get a VISUAL-640 X-terminal to ping the sun successfully, but a telnet session connects, and then hangs. I tried a 386SX PC running NCSA telnet, and the message window claims both bad checksums and some fragmented packets, and the sun eventually times the connection out. I have then tried building CSLIP on a Sun 3/280 file server running SUNOS 4.1, and the makefile building the OS claims that both /sys/sun3/machine/param.h and slcompress.c have a #define BCOPY which conflict with each other. (Oddly enough the #define BCOPY in param.h is for a Sun 3-260, not 3/280, or is a 280 just a faster 260?) I would like to converse with anyone who has gotten CSLIP running on either a 3/280 or a 386i. Thanx. ============================================================================ Kevin J.
