If you have hands-on experience with the machine, we would greatly appreciate your comments, both good and bad ones, on the following areas: 1) FX/FORTRAN compiler. Does it differ from the FX/8 family? How much speed up can we expect to gain as opposed to FX/8 with the same compiler options/directives? 2) Concentrix reliability. 3) User training. How much effort can we anticipate on user training both for FX/8 users and new users? Please include the system configuration of your FX/2800 in your reply. Reply via e-mail preferred. We are in the process of getting some benchmarking on some of our production codes, however, any benchmark results also will be appreaciated. -- Jay Liang Geosciences Computing Network jay@alliant.uoknor.edu University of Oklahoma jay@uokmax.uoknor.edu Norman, OK 73019 jl@geohub.uoknor.edu (405) 325-5540 [work]
