(The new ink does work in the old printers, though!) The "first look" review said that besides having none of the smearing problems of the old ink, the new ink allows one to use any good grade of bond paper in the DeskJet instead of being limited to special treated papers.... Good news indeed, but then again as lasers rapidly erode the $1000 price barrier, HP needed to do something to keep the DeskJet a viable product.
