Message-ID: <33650@cup.portal.com> Date: 8 Sep 90 06:02:44 GMT References: <3053@mindlink.UUCP> Organization: The Portal System (TM) Lines: 9 When I first got my 2000 I asked the dealer about running it on it's side. He said that there would be no problem, but that I would need to re-prep the 100Meg Quantum since the drive would (due to slight play in head linkages) be out of alignment on it's side. Well I tried it without re-prepping the Quantum, and soon started to have rapidly more frequent read errors on the drive. I broke down and re-prepped the drive, and have been running now for months with no problems. Patrick Horgan phorgan@cup.portal.com
