Forgive me if I'm wrong. We are looking for a high speed parallel (or higher speed serial) interface for the Apollo DN10000 (VME) that will allow us to communicate with our Alliant FX/8, (presumably, such an interface would have to work on the Alliant as well). Bandwidth is not critical(>200Kb/s is ok), but latency must be minimized. The application is a real-time, mechanical systems dynamics simulation coupled with real-time, realistic animation of same. The dynamics would be run on the DN10000, with other host functions carried out on the Alliant FX/8, which will communicate with a high-end image generator. Sub-millisecond latency is preferred, as we must maintain ~15 millisecond intervals for data transfer to the image generator. Essentially, what would we be looking for is something like a DR11 or HSD interface. If anyone has experience with such and interface, or has seen one advertised, I would appreciate a pointer.
