Are you sure about the inversed text, though? I recall using Flash with EDT a lot. Flash basically handles the things that the plainest-vanilla VT100 would be able to handle, except for 132-column mode. For a more capable terminal emulator, I would recommend Uniterm. It does a pretty good job with almost all the VT100 stuff, including a good hack for the 132-column mode (you get about 126). The VT220 clone I'm typing this on doesn't do as good a job as Uniterm. Also, it has Kermit built in, besides the BBS-oriented protocols.
