Your problem is not DECwindows (and you are really only running X with
the DECwindows window manager).  But the problem... or culprit here... is
the DECwindows Window Manager.  If you use a different Window Manager
(The Motif(TM) Window Manager will soon be the standardly supported
Window Manager from Digital and is available today) this should not
occur.
