(also, what is INT 0Fh?) Message-ID: Date: 7 Sep 90 15:47:25 GMT Sender: vijay@cs.albany.edu Organization: Computer Science Department, SUNY at Albany, Albany, NY 12222 Lines: 32 Ok, here's the problem: I have a box that hooks up to the printer port. To tell which of the keys on the box is being pressed, I read the printer port. Now, what I'd like to do is achieve the same thing but in an interrupt driven mode. In other words, I'd like a hardware interrupt to be generated everytime a character comes in on the printer port, so I could write a handler for that interrupt and know the moment a key press on the box occurred. How does one do this? I've tried all the most obvious routes (including calling Zenith!). I thought INT 0Fh would do the trick, but from what I could see, it doesnt get raised ... what does it do? Email with even the most naive suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I am not a regular reader of this group.
