The part is very similar to the 72 pin SIMM used in some PS/2s only this one only has 68 pins. These SIMMs have a 0.05 inch pin spacing. The PS/2 SIMMs are 256k X 36 bit, ie. double word plus parity on each byte. The Philips SIMMs we need are 256k X 32 bit, ie. no parity. This would account for the lack of pins. Otherwise the two parts look identical. Does anybody know anything about these, I'm sure they are a standard part but Philips locally are charging a ridiculous price for them given today's RAM prices. Conor Nolan Microelectronics Dept.
