I have an Orchid Designer 800 VGA (w/ 256K) that will not work in the 800 x 600 x 16 graphics mode. I am trying to set the mode using the Orchid Utility VMODE but an error message about the card not being connected to a variable-frequency monitor is displayed. My question(s) are this: 1. What switch setting does the Orchid card need to be setup in? I have set the card as per the manual but was wondering if the manual was incorrect. I am not using the original manuals (lost during recent move) but a slip of paper (an addendum) for the switch settings on the card. 2. What SuperVGA card will work with the NEC 2A? I also understand that the NEC 2A is not really a multi-scanning monitor but does support the approiate frequency to handle 800 x 600. Am I correct in this? A number for Orchid Customer Support would be good also (as I have lost my original manuals). thanks in advance. david gonzales UNLV/ERC
