Lines: 23 Cc: bumby Yesterday I threw my computer case onto my back before closing it. The resulting fall damaged the computer in a way that was not immediately apparent -- the disk drive developed an intermittent fault. Actually more than intermittent -- most of the time. It reads track 0 successfully, but has trouble reading individual sectors of later tracks (verified by DEBUG). Visual inspection insode the case revealed that the connector for the drive was slightly awry, so I thought I might get by with a cheap fix, but I wasn't so lucky. I intend to call Toshiba this afternoon (when the work day starts in California) but I thought I would ask for advice from the other klutzes on the net about how they have dealt with this problem. Although this may hasten the day when I upgrade -- today's basic laptop has more features than the T1000 -- there are others in my family who could get some use from a fully functional T1000. -- --R.
