Most of the time I only want to do the kind of style sheets that are handled by the named rulers and don't want to mess with the character styles. Other times I only want to do character styles (like don't spell check net addresses - I'll be writing a macro to find all net addresses and mark them as don't spell check because they are always wrong in the checker's eyes). I use styles heavily in PageMaker 3.02 and haven't run into any limitations in the way Nisus combines named rulers and User styles in comparison. I don't use styles in Word 4.0 much because I detest the interface for creating them (along with the rest of Word 4.0's interface) so I can't compare the functionality there. My only gripe, and the guy I spoke to at Paragon said he was working on it personally, is that Nisus styles aren't imported into PageMaker styles.
